History:

Macon Co. Title & Escrow Services (previously known as A. Verne Baker Abstract) has been Macon's locally owned residential and commercial title company since 1868. Macon County was established on January 6, 1837; named after Nathaniel Macon, a Revolutionary war soldier and a North Carolina Congressman.  At that time the county seat was in Bloomington, MO.  However, in 1863 the county seat was moved to the city of Macon.
